Who is X-Wear?

X-Wear, our online store, is a fusion between our two flag-ship stores Board Stiff, our surf, snow & skate shops, and Sol Optics our sunglass division. Unlike large corporate chains, we tailor our nine stores to accommodate the needs of our customers and communities. Each store provides a unique and stimulating shopping experience through music, top of the line edgy brands, and fun employees.

Our original stores are based in Provincetown, Massachusetts, located at the tip of Cape Cod (where the Pilgrims first landed, but couldn't find a surf or sunglass shop), have been supplying local and vacationing customers with spectacular service since 1987.

Board Stiff, the only surf shop on the tip of the Cape, offers fun and fashion for the street, surf, and beach. With our large selection of soft and hard goods you're sure to find everything you need.

Sol Optics is an authorized dealer for sunglasses made and designed all over the world, including the United States, Italy, and France. At each of our Sol Optics store locations, sunglasses are our passion and specialty. We carry a full selection of sport, fashion, and lifestyle brands providing endless possibilities for vision, image or activity. We offer all price points, from high end sunglasses to cheap sunglasses and discount sunglasses.

We'll guide you through the selection process by determining what will fit your face, personality, activities, and specialized needs. Sunglasses are first thing people notice when they look at you. Some say, "shoes make the man," we say, sunglasses make the man and woman. It's hard to know what kind of lens you are looking for if it is purchased in a crowded mall without any natural light. All of our stores have access to the outdoors, allowing customers to see the product in action.

Due to the fact that a majority of our business takes place in the summer months, we have developed X-Wear to keep our professional team of sales associates busy year-round. The web proved to be a viable way for us to stay in contact with our existing customers as well as to discover new customers from all over the world. Our headquarters are located in beautiful Provincetown, a summer resort destination at the tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, know for its liberal attitudes toward all walks of life. It is one of the first original art colonies and has blossomed into one of the most popular vacation travel destinations.

Provincetown's natural beauty can be enjoyed by everyone, it's beautiful natural harbor is a port of call to boaters and water enthusiasts alike. Provincetown is not the fishing capital it once was, but it has become a very popular tourist and recreational fisherman travel destination.

One of the most popular tourist activities is Whale Watching. You may hop aboard the Dolphin Fleet or Portuguese Princess. Polarized sunglasses, binoculars and a camera are a must for this wonderful experience, all these items can be purchased at Coconuts located at 294 Commercial Street the heart of Provincetown. (directly across from the Portuguese Bakery, yum).

Tourists can enjoy sunset rides through the dunes with Art's Dune Tours. Panoramic views of the town can also be enjoyed thanks to Flyers Boat Rental. At Flyers, you can rent a boat or hop their shuttle to Long Point, the tip of the tip of the Cape. Whether surfing the incredible beaches of the lower Cape or hitting the ramps at our new skate park, we offer surfboard and skate board rentals and sales at Board Stiff.

After a day at the beach, you'll find a great variety of unique restaurants, fun boutiques, and art galleries on Commercial Street in Provincetown. Unlike most vacation spots where you have to drive from one spot to another, everything is within walking distance; so barhop, eat, play and visit our three retail locations, all on Commercial street.

Board Stiff Falmouth is our newest retail store. It opened in November 2006. Board Stiff offers 5300 square feet of retail madness. At our Falmouth, MA location we have merged the best of all our locations. We offer the complete sunglass collections as well as all the toys and gear you need for skating, surfing and snowboarding. We have also added saltwater kayaks, Thule racks and beach cruiser bicycles.

We are also a vendor at various boat shows in New England. We attend boat shows in Newport and Providence Rhodes Island, as well as Boston Massachusetts.

Unlike many internet retailers as you just read, we have successful, well established retail stores. Therefore we have many "warehouses" to pull product from and therefore we are able to offer our customers a broader selection of merchandise. Our warehouses are retail stores!
