Vuarnet

Vuarnet

Since the 50's these stunning sunglasses have been made in the same manner of providing unquestionable protection from natural materials with a French design aesthetic.  The original lens was created by two French opticians from "mineral glass" and was known as the Skilynx lens. These lenses were very bright and allowed Skiers to discern any ground changes in the upcoming track.  When Jean Vuarnet won the Gold Medal for France in Alpine Skiing at the 1960 Olympics, a deal was struck to rename them after him.  In 1984 at the LA Olympics "It’s a Vuarnet day today" was coined meaning a bright sunny day.

They remain the same quality craftsmanship and "Made in France" style more than half a century later
