The runners who will be taking part in the Marathon de Sables ultra-marathon may be considered completely nuts by most of us but to fellow marathon enthusiasts the world over, they are heroes. Think 156 miles...in the Sahara Desert...over dangerous terrain...with rationed food and water. Simply amazing or just plain crazy...it doesn't matter...it will be the most grueling and satisfying run that any runner can imagine.
